Fabrizio Ferraro, Suite No. 1 Op. 29 – In old style

The Suite in Old Style Op. 29 for the guitar was born from an idea to unify my vision and taste of old music with that of the modern guitar world, using Baroque gestures. In a world where old styles such as Renaissance, Baroque and Classical-Romantic are rejected (mainly by composers) I wanted to celebrate the greatness of the Baroque with the guitar. The Suite is Baroque in its idioms, yet still original in its character and different aspects, despite the form and styles used. I’ve kept the most regular succession of dances without adding any extra movements (Galanterie) such as Gavotte, Siciliana, Bourrée.
