Gefjon (or Gefjun), is the goddess of ploughing and fertility of the land. She bore 4 sons to a giant of Jötunheim, which she turned into oxen, parted the sea and ploughed the land, creating the island now known as Zealand in Denmark. The figurine depicts her with the oxen that she used to plough the land.
