Dubliners is a collection of fifteen short stories by Joyce, first published in 1914. They are set in a deliberate order beginning with youth and ending with old age and death. Throughout the stories there are strong references to music, but in the three that I have chosen music plays a pivotal role. (Alan Grundy)
