In 2004, Vermont Soap Founder and CEO Larry Plesent did a survey of shea butter extraction techniques and marketing methods in Upper Guinea for USAID. He met, and talked with hundreds of people. Every once in a while he would spot a person who looked younger than everyone else. It was hard to place their age. Shea Butter is full of all kinds of anti-inflammatory molecular goodies like triterpene esters. In several studies these “magic molecules” have been shown to moderate symptoms of inflammatory response.
